Description

Tabriz rugs are named after the city of Tabriz, Iran’s second-oldest city. As the earliest capital of the Safavid dynasty, it has served as the heart of Persian rug production since the 15th century and its rugs reflect the excellent craftsmanship of some of the region’s most skilled producers. Unlike tribal and village rugs, Tabriz rugs were constructed in commercial workshops with highly specialized roles: dyers prepared the dye lots and dyed the wool, artists designed a rug’s intended design, and a team of weavers constructed the rug as designed. This separation of responsibilities resulted in excellent weaves and a wide range of designs and color palettes. Customers can expect tightly knotted wool fields upon a cotton foundation, often featuring more delicate, often curvilinear patterns and a very short, shaved pile. This rug has been treated with an antique wash, softening its tones to appeal to the palette of any modern-day home. Pattern, color variation, and signs of wear with vintage items is normal. Care

STAIN PROTECTION: For customers seeking the maximum protection of their investment, we recommend a professional application of Ultra-Guard's Fabric Protection solution. This in-home service is available nationwide for a wide range of furniture. For your convenience, we have enabled it to be selected at the time of your rug purchase. CLEANING: All rugs are professionally cleaned prior to shipping. To maintain its condition, vacuum with suction only (no bristles). Spot clean with mild detergent and water only. If spot cleaning does not remove a stain, we recommend a professional cleaning. Never use a carpet cleaning machine to clean a vintage rug.

STORING: Always roll rugs when stored (folding for an extended time can weaken the rug's backing and cause the rug to stretch). Store in a dry environment.

Shipping

Orders of in-stock and vintage rugs are shipped within 2-3 days (Monday-Friday) of order placement, unless Ultra-Guard Fabric Protection add-on services are selected. Rugs ordered through our made-to-order collections will ship according to the lead times quoted at the time of purchase. Orders which include Ultra-Guard Fabric Protection treatment will be shipped within 5-7 business days (Monday-Friday) of order placement, to allow sufficient time for rugs to be treated and to dry thoroughly. All orders are shipped via UPS or FedEx Ground. All orders will require signature at the time of delivery.

Returns

Due to the one-of-a-kind and custom nature of our products, all sales are final. All products from Passerine's Vintage Rugs collection are vintage or antique. Vintage products are worn in nature, and may contain blemishes. While every effort is made to photograph repairs and/or signs of age, we consider these details part of what gives each product its one of a kind appeal, and therefore cannot be considered defective.
