ORIGIN: 1920s Kashmir
RUG COLORS: Smoky blue, slate, rust, wheat, merlot, mauve
PILE HEIGHT: Low
MATERIAL: Wool on cotton
DESCRIPTION: Though not Persian in origin, Kashmir carpet-making is heavily influenced by Persian styles and uses the same asymmetrical knot technique used throughout Persian carpet-making centers. The Sarda features a high knot-count and a classically ornate rug pattern, but in a decidedly modern color palette of slate, wheat, and maroons. In south-facing exposures, this rug will read more golden, whereas in north-facing light it reads more neutral. Pattern, color variation, and signs of wear with vintage items is normal.
We recommend using rug pads to extend the life of all Passerine rugs. Add a custom-sized rug pad to your order using order add-on the drop down above.
