DESCRIPTION: Persian Bidjar rugs are one of the most sought-after styles of vintage rug due to their incredibly dense and well-made construction. Rug-makers used a bat-like tool to tamp down rows of weft foundation in between knotted pile, resulting in heavy, dense, and nearly indestructible rugs. In fact, Bidjars have been nicknamed the "iron rug of Persia”.
This Bidjar is particularly special due to the earthy colors it possesses following antique washing. We see a delicately designed all-over field featuring array of browns, olives, soft pinks and light blues. Incredibly difficult to replicate and truly one-of-a-kind, our supplier claimed this rug is one of the most beautiful Bidjars he had sourced in over 20 years!
Pattern, color variation, and signs of wear with vintage items is normal. We recommend using rug pads to extend the life of all Passerine rugs. Add a custom-sized rug pad to your order using order add-on the drop down above.
