Brookland (3 x 14)District Rug Shoppe
DIMENSIONS: 3'4" x 13' 7"
ORIGIN: 1920s Malayer
RUG COLORS: Dark blue field, almond brown, olive green
MATERIALS: Wool pile on cotton.
DESCRIPTION: The Brookland is a malayer rug, hand-knotted by a cottage industry of small shops and in-home weavers. Delicate scrolling floral designs observed in this runner's dark field were likely inspired by the ornate designs observed in neighboring city workshops. This rug also features pictoral motifs depicting animals or wildlife (see close-up), a nod to the village life of the weaver.
This rug has been treated with an antique wash, softening its tones to appeal to the palette of any modern-day home. Pattern, color variation, and signs of wear with vintage items is normal.
PILE: Low pile. We recommend rug pads with all Passerine rugs.
